Designed specifically for Australian conditions, the charger features durable IP55 weather protection and a compact modern design suitable for residential installations. ☀️ Smart Solar Charging The IQ Home Solar intelligently monitors available solar generation and can utilise excess solar energy to charge your EV using cleaner and more cost-effective electricity. The included CT clamps: monitor household energy usage, detect excess exported solar power, and help optimise charging performance while reducing the risk of overloading your home electrical supply. ⚡ Three Smart Charging Modes The Ocular IQ Home Solar offers three flexible charging modes to suit different energy usage patterns and solar production levels. �� Fast Mode Charges your EV at maximum available charging power. Power may come from: solar generation, grid electricity, or a combination of both. If charging current limits have been configured by the installer or within charging schedules, these settings will determine the maximum charging speed. ☀️ Solar Assist Mode (Recommended Solar Mode) This is the recommended charging mode for most households using solar. In Solar Assist mode: the charger maintains a minimum charging rate of 6 Amps, while also utilising any excess solar energy available. If solar generation decreases, the charger can supplement charging using grid power to maintain continuous charging. This mode is especially useful: during cloudy weather, for smaller solar systems, or when solar production fluctuates throughout the day. It provides a balance between efficient solar usage and reliable charging performance. �� Solar Only Mode Solar Only mode charges your EV exclusively using excess solar energy generated by your home solar system. To protect battery charging stability: a minimum excess solar output of approximately 7 Amps is required before charging begins. If solar generation drops below the required threshold: charging will pause automatically, and resume once sufficient excess solar power becomes available again. Supplied by 4A EV Charging and manufactured by Ocular Charging, the charger continuously monitors household power consumption and automatically adjusts EV charging output to help avoid overloading your electrical supply. Using integrated CT clamps, the system measures incoming electrical usage in real time, calculates available power capacity, and dynamically adjusts charging performance accordingly. �� Dynamic Power Balancing The IQ Home Solar monitors your home’s electrical load every second. When high-demand appliances such as: air conditioners, water heaters, ovens, or other large appliances are operating, the charger can automatically reduce EV charging power to help prevent overload conditions or nuisance tripping. Once household demand decreases, the charger automatically increases charging power again to maximise charging speed using the available electrical capacity. This intelligent load management helps provide: safer charging, improved energy efficiency, and more reliable operation for energy-restricted homes. ☀️ Solar Integration with CT Clamps Included CT clamps allow the charger to: monitor household electricity usage, measure exported solar energy, and optimise charging using excess solar generation. Because the Ocular IQ Home Solar monitors exported energy using CT clamps: available excess solar for EV charging may sometimes be limited while the home battery is charging.
